All Hallow's Eve Fall 2016

Commissions, Soiree, School and Best Dressed

This was my first year doing Halloween Commissions!
I've always made my own costumes
(Consecutively since age 17)

So! I wanted to see if I could make more
also a few folks asked me,
I had left my job so thusly,
 needed income,
was ready,
especially,
to launch my name, website and brand.

Also this year I was hyper halloween obsessed
because, because because,
  
I missed

​..So with these reasons considered,
up, up, and away!

Into commissioning

I
​
​went!

They were challenging and beautiful.

Here's what I learned:
​​​

1. Always quote higher then you expect to charge,
2. Buy massive amounts of material when working with a new medium,
3. ALWAYS INCLUDE A FITTING,
4. Start in spring.
5. End October 1st.

So next year,
​
I'll try again.

It's too exciting and rewarding not to.

Jack's Commission

Michelle's Commission​

Michelle is a loyal commission client

this year
she wanted to dress as...

She documented my construction process.

Carter's Commission
​

Carter wanted to go as the Ghecko from PJ Masks,
the Disney Junior
TV show sensation

He's only two so the costumes they sell online would be too large for him.

I made his onezie out of the same fabric as Myle's clown suit.

Apparently he loved this onezie so much, he didn't take it off the first weekend it arrived.

We sure enjoyed playing with the 3 meters of fabric

So I had a party where I gladly kicked people out for not dressing up.

Foreal tho.
It felt pretty astounding.

I gave Nick because he showed up causal.

all in attendance.

2nd Place:
Flower Crown Deer Head

​A beautiful mounted lady buck head
chills in a bar in
​Downtown Oakland.
​

1st place:
Hillary Clinton

Holding a severed Donald Trump head.

Note, this was about a week before
​we would know
the elction results.

This man dressed in all white,
comlete with pearl necklace,
and made his own donald trump head
complete with pipecleaner gore,
driping from his neck.

I was literally bowing down to this hillarious and
well though out costume creation.
