First of all, I love This Overrated ActressIt's funny to have a lifetime achievement award while an actor is still alive, but what a woman! Thank goodness for Meryl Streep. Here's her acceptance speech if you haven't heard. And of course our "fearless leader's" rebuke. (That's a Rocky and Bowinkle Reference) She was fabulous in Devil Wears Prada. Speaking of Prada!!!! Natalie Portman wore a timeless Prada gown, almost reminiscent of Jackie O (who she of course played) in the only film I paid to see this season. I'm a big Natalie fan. Her dress has jeweled embellishments! and the mod minimal, silhouette taking us back to 1960. Even her hair is slightly poofed in that iconic, big, sexy 60's hairstyle. Jaw droppingly gorgeous!!!! It is odd though, I assumed she'd wear Dior, she's only one of their most loyal spokesmodels. I've always loved this photo, It definitely tells a tale of class, duty, and anguish. Maybe I'm over thinking, I've been obsessed with Portman since Starwars. CASE AND POINT! (Everything she does is amazing) Better than Kiera Knightly anyway, who models for Chanel. ... I appreciate that gaudy bead applique's are still a thing. I only pay attention to trends that I approve of, and bedazzle, I of course adore. Sofia Vergara in Zuhair Muhad, The lebanese Bridal and Couture icon designed this dreamy gown. I like it from the waist down, but the top is all kindza forced fairtale, corny, whimsy-lookin. Next time go with Jenny Packham! It's amazing how she was just a regular women (17 to be exact) until she was literally scouted on a beach in Columbia. A Latina Qween! Seriously though, I'm so grateful that I'm living in my 20's during an era where the stars literally look like figure skating couture. possibly inspired by the recent olympics? Actually the synchronized swimmers costumes were fabulous, but I can't find any good photos anywhere.. Imagine vibrant, neon, artsy, abstract creations. The outfits I did not like. I do love Emma stone, And am happy she's received her first award 12 years after she moved to Hollywood. but I saw La La Land, and don't agree with it sweeping in Golden Globe wins. If you haven't seen it, it's a modern day, drama, musical. This film is about an aspiring jazz pianist(Ryan Gosling) and an aspiring actress in Hollywood (Emma Stone). It's long and has some sweet parts, but holds no torch to the more ground breaking and out-of-the-box films that came out this year. pretty much is was "Oscar Bait" A modern film written like a classic designed to inspire and win awards. It was too easy. I am pleased that Emma is a rising star, but don't want to see literal stars on her gown. Even if it is Valentino. Here's a few noteworthy outfits! |
